A four cylinder, 16 valve DOHC engine with multi-point fuel injection (MPFI) has all the power you’ve dreamed about. The 1.6 litre engine produces 107 hp at 5,800 rpm, maximum torque 150 Nm at 4,000 rpm, with a top speed of 187 Kmph for manual transmission models and 175 Kmph for auto transmission models. Both the 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic are equipped with a light, yet powerful transmission system. Power-assisted electro-hydraulic rack-and-pinion steering gives you total control effortlessly.

The revolutionary Total Noise Restraint System (TNRS) utilizes an insulated engine cover and a hydraulic engine mount to help absorb shock and reduce engine noise when starting, accelerating or braking. The Chevrolet Optra is equipped with a “Maintenance Free Battery” which is self-charging and does not require battery water refills. The exhaust system is equipped with three chambers and a special noise suppression system in the tailpipe.
